Arsenal v Portsmouth : Preview

The second weekend of the new Premier League season sees Arsenal welcome Portsmouth to the Emirates stadium. These two sides have made very different starts to the new campaign with Arsenal flying and Portsmouth struggling already.

Portsmouth have problems both on the pitch and off it. With the majority of last seasons stars at Portsmouth moving on to bigger things it has left the club with a rather depleted squad and the players they have managed to hold on to can’t be all that focussed with all the hullabaloo that is going on behind the scenes.

It doesn’t get any easier for Portsmouth either with a trip away to Arsenal. Arsenal have made a blistering start to the new season with a 6-1 thrashing of Everton and a 2-0 away win up at Celtic.

Arsenal look determined to prove all their critics wrong this year and it is hard to see anything other than victory against Portsmouth for them here.
