Bolton Wanderers vs Chelsea : Preview.

This will be the second time that Chelsea face Bolton in a mere four days. Bolton were pumped 4-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge during the week so they will want revenge when Chelsea visit the Reebok this Saturday.

If they are to get their revenge then Bolton will have to tighten up their defence. As they found out in midweek – Chelsea don’t waste chances and will punish them if given that much time and space. Defensive issues don’t just lie there for Bolton. Gary Megson’ side haven’t kept a clean sheet in the Premier League this season. In fact the only clean sheet they have kept all season was in a cup tie against Tranmere Rovers.

There are no such problems for Chelsea however as the London club have conceded the least amount of goals in the league jointly along with Aston Villa with just eight conceded. If Bolton are to get anything from this match then Gary Megson’s chosen front men will have to be on form.

One of those front men is expected to be powerful striker and general pest Kevin Davies who is likely to return after he was rested for the clash with Chelsea during the week. Should Gary Megson elect to play 4-4-2 then he is likely to be partnered by Ivan Klasnic who grabbed the winner against Everton last weekend.

Chelsea will be bring the spine of their team, John Terry, Frank Lampard, Petr Cech and Didier Drogba back into the starting line up after resting them during the week. Nicolas Anelka will also come back into the fold to partner Drogba up front.
