Chelsea sack Scolari: Scolari Sacked As Chelsea Manager

Chelsea sack ScolariIt is understood that Chelsea manager, Luiz Felipe Scolari, has been sacked by Chelsea.

Chelsea have been struggling of late and the blame has been pointed at Scolari. A statement on the Chelsea website states that the decision was made in order “to maintain a challenge for the trophies we are still competing for”.

Chelsea have confirmed that Scolari has been dismissed as manager of Chelsea with immediate effect. Ray Wilkins will step up to the plate to take charge of the side on a temporary basis.

Here is the Chelsea statement in full…

Luiz Felipe Scolari has been dismissed as manager of Chelsea Football Club with immediate effect”. “The Chelsea board would like to place on record our gratitude for his time as manager.

Felipe has brought many positives to the club since he joined and we all feel a sense of sadness that our relationship has ended so soon.

Unfortunately the results and performances of the team appeared to be deteriorating at a key time in the season.

In order to maintain a challenge for the trophies we are still competing for we felt the only option was to make the change now.

The search for a new manager has already started and we hope to have someone in place as soon as possible.

Scolari was appointed back in June as a replacement for the also sacked Avram Grant. Chelsea fans were optimistic in the appointment of Scolari and dreamed that attacking, flair football was coming to Stamford Bridge with him.

However, that hasn’t been the case despite some early season promise and it has to be said, great football in the opening weeks, but, performances have deteriorated and they find themselves way off the pace in the league and well behind leaders Man United.

What do you think of the sacking of Big Phil Scolari? Did he make the most of his time at Bridge?

TO my own view as a full flesh surporter of the team, avram grame and scolari deserve what they got ,but the team must take its time to look for a talented and ambicious manager like the former manager josse murino.thanks
