After an awesome start to the season Chelsea have a had a few stumbles of late, something that they will look to prevent from happening again when Blackburn visit this weekend. While Blackburn recorded a much needed win against Burnley last week Chelsea succumbed to Aston Villa and they also recently lost to Wigan.

After a more than impressive performance midweek in the Champions League however Chelsea look to be back on song (even without Didier Drogba) and Blackburn will find it difficult when they head to the Bridge this weekend. In their last thirteen games against Chelsea, Blackburn have lost eleven of them and have failed to so much as score a goal in their last six league matches against them.

An even more alarming statistic for Blackburn fans is that in their three away league matches this season so far they have conceded eleven goals – that’s nearly an average of four a game! If they are to get any form of result away at Chelsea they will have to defend better than they have done so far on the road that is for sure.

Franco Di Santo will be ineligible to face Chelsea as he is on loan from them so Jason Roberts looks the likely man to take his place. Pascal Chimbonda will also be a likely absentee for Blackburn as will Vince Grella.

Chelsea will also have a few absentees in Jose Bosingwa and Yuri Zhirkov who are both injured. While Alex and John Mikel Obi are both also unlikely to feature. Salomon Kalou will hope he has done enough to dislodge either Didier Drogba or Nicolas Anelka up front after his impressive performance midweek.
