Germany have been made the favourites to win Euro 2008 this year and as ever the Germans are strong all throughout the team. In attack they are not short of options with the likes of Miroslav Klose, Lukas Podolski, Kevin Kurányi and Mario Gomez to choose from and with Michael Ballack and Bastian Schweinsteiger in the midfield the up front can also expect plenty of support. However, Germany have not won a European Championship match since they won in the final at Euro 96 and have not looked too sharp in their friendly matches in the build up to Euro 2008.

Poland have pretty much been written off by everyone ahead of this match and no-one believes they will be able to overcome the Germans. Poland have played Germany 15 times and have NEVER beaten them. The have drawn 4 times and lost 11 times and the last time they managed to avoid defeat against Germany was at the 1978 Fifa World Cup where they managed a goalless draw.
