Kilmarnock Football Club are a Scottish football club based in the town of Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. They are more commonly referred to by their nickname, Killie. Kilmarnock F.C were founded in 1869, making them the oldest professional football club in Scotland. They play their home matches at the 18,128 capacity Rugby Park and their home colours are blue and white. When first founded Kilmarnock originally played rugby rules but the difficulty in organising fixtures and the growing influence of Queen’s Park F.C soon persuaded them to adopt the association code instead but their roots are still recognised by the club to this day which explains their stadium name, Rugby Park. They are currently playing in the top flight of Scottish football, the Scottish Premier League and are managed by Jim Jefferies.
