Manchester City vs Hull City : Preview.

On Boxing day last year Hull visited the City of Manchester stadium for a match which saw them 4-0 down to Man City at half time. This resulted in the now infamous sight of Hull manager Phil Brown humiliating his players on the pitch at half time in front of the Man City support. From that moment on Hull were never the same side and still aren’t almost a year on from the incident.

After a crucial 3-2 victory over Everton during the week their may be a renewed optimism among the Hull camp ahead of their trip to Man City but with the vast array of talent that City have at their disspossal i wouldn’t be too confident putting my money on Hull this weekend.

However the truth is that if Hull were to get a result at Man City then now is the perfect time to claim one. After six draws in a row in the league Manchester City no longer seem to have the same confidence and enthusiasm that they had at the beginning of the season. If Man City have any hopes of cracking the top four this season then they will have to improve quickly as they are in danger of slipping well behind the leading contenders.

If Hull are to come away from Manchester this week with a point or three then the fit again Jimmy Bullard will be the key. Since his return to first team action Hull have been a totally different team with him in the side and after being rested for the Everton game he will be 100% fit.

Kolo Toure is a doubt for Man City at the back while Martin Petrov is a definite casualty, however, Vincent Kompany and Michael Johnson could feature after recovering from injury and playing for the reserves during the week.

Bernard Mendy will be available again for Hull after serving his suspension while Seyi Olofinjana is confident of recovering from his hamstring injury in time to face Man City.
