Manchester United vs Everton : Preview.

Man Utd will face Everton as they return from the international break desperate to reaffirm themselves as title contenders after slipping to third in the league table. While at the same time Everton are looking for the result against Man Utd that will kick start their injury plagued season that sees them meandering down in 12th.

Neither side can really afford to lose any points here, perhaps Man Utd more so than Everton, but this match is equally crucial for both sides. However it would be criminal for Man Utd to fall eight points behind Chelsea in the championship race and you can be assured that Fergie will let his players know that this is the case.

There is one word to sum up Everton’s season so far. Disappointing. In truth though Everton have been very unlucky with injuries and when their squad gets nearer to full strength i’m sure the results will improve, however, right now it seems as though every game is a struggle for David Moyes and i’m afraid i fancy that to be the case again this week.

Despite having injury concerns of their own Man Utd still look far too strong for Everton and with Wayne Rooney facing his old side he will go that extra bit further to impress.

Definite absentees for Man Utd include Rio Ferdinand, Fabio, Owen Hargreaves and Danny Wellbeck while Berbatov, Carrick, Evans and O’Shea are all doubts. Gary Neville will also miss out on facing Everton through a suspension.

The Everton injury pile up includes Anichebe, Arteta, Jagielka and Vaughan who all have knee injuries. Howard, Jo, Neville, Osman, Pienaar, Rodwell and Saha are all major doubts who will be assessed closer to kick off.
