Middlesbrough will entertain Tottenham in the first match of the season at the Riverside, although Tottenham are expected to do more of the entertaining with new signinigs Luka Modric, Giovanni Dos Santos and David Bentley in the squad.

Tottenham were under constant scrutiny last year for their defending but with Gareth Bale and Ledley King fit again to join Johnathan Woodgate and Alan Hutton at the back, it should be a lot better this year (although Alan Hutton is injured for today).
