Sunderland vs West Ham United : Preview.

After a defeat last weekend Sunderland will look for victory against West Ham this weekend as they look to keep pressure on the teams above them. In contrast West Ham are desperately trying to break out of the bottom three and a win at Sunderland will boost the Hammers confidence considerably.

Confidence in the West Ham camp may have already increased after their fantastic comeback from 2-0 down against Arsenal last weekend to secure a point, but, whether they can produce that level of performance away from home this season remains to be seen.

Sunderland have been very impressive at home this season and you would have to fancy them beating West Ham here especially if in form striker Darren Bent is on song again for the Black Cats. Along similar lines West Ham striker Carlton Cole was magnificent last weekend and if West Ham are to get a result then he will need to be on form once more.

Alessandro Diamanti will feel slightly aggrieved if he isn’t given a start after the impact he made from the bench against Arsenal last week so i expect to see him partner Carlton Cole up front against Sunderland. One man who son’t feature however is Scott Parker after he was sent off in last weeks draw with the Gunners.

Sunderland are facing a race against time for the fitness of Darren Bent but Steve Bruce is confident his striker will play. Frazier Campbell and George McCartney are also doubts for Sunderland.
