Tottenham vs Stoke : Preview.

After a blistering start to the new season Tottenham will look to keep their place in the top four when Stoke come to visit this weekend. Continuing with last seasons pattern Stoke have been very good at home so far this season but have yet to register a win away from home in the league. Unfortunately for them Tottenham have been nothing short of brilliant at home thus far and will be huge favourites this weekend.

Something which Stoke can take heart from though will be the absence of the on-fire Jermaine Defoe who was sent off for Tottenham in the victory over Pompey last week. That being said, all it means is that Tottenham will elect to play Peter Crouch and Robbie Keane up front which is enough to cause any defence problems.

Stoke also have a suspension of their own to deal with after centre-half Robert Huth was given a three match ban for punching Matthew Upson. Andy Wilkinson will step in for him while Glen Whelan could make a return to the side but Liam Lawrence is a major doubt after missing training due to a virus.

It is hard to see anything other than a Tottenham victory here but Stoke have made teams really stand up and take notice of them in the Premier League and Harry Redknapp won’t let his players take them lightly. Still though, 2-0 Tottenham i reckon.
