West Ham United vs Arsenal : Preview.

The season is beginning to look bleak for West Ham and it doesn’t get any easier with the in-form Arsenal visiting this weekend. With Spurs losing on Saturday a win for Arsenal against West Ham will see them jump up into third in the table.

West Ham have been pretty light in front of goal so far this season with Carlton Cole proving their only genuine goal threat. In stark contrast Arsenal are the Premier Leagues top goal scorers and have won their last 4 league matches.

Arsene Wenger turned 60 this week and celebrated by declaring that Arsenal will win a trophy this season. While he didn’t specify that trophy as being the league, if Arsenal are to win the league this season then these are the matches that they have to win. Despite West Ham’s precarious league position a trip away to Upton Park is never an easy fixture and they will be up for this so Arsenal shouldn’t be over confident.

Scott Parker will return to the side for West Ham after serving out a suspension and Kieron Dyer could also play a part after supposedly recovering from yet another injury.

As for Arsenal they are expected to welcome back the equally injury prone Eduardo to the side although Nicklas Bendtner and Tomas Rosicky are major doubts and are unlikely to feature.
